structure was built in 1932 by Puerto Rican architect Pedro de
Castro, and since then has served as a private social club for
resident Spaniards.

Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico
This museum
incorporates a modern five story structure, designed by
architects Otto Reyes and Luis Gutierrez, with a neo-classic
building - the West Wing - that was part of the San Juan
Municipal Hospital, designed and built by architect William Schimmelphening in 1920.
The modern East Wing centers on an three stories high atrium,
that gives access to the 400 seat theatre, a restaurant, the
Museum shop, and the gardens.
