To get married in Puerto Rico, just follow
these 8 steps.

1. Visit the Demographic Registry (787) 767-9120 to pick up the marriage license documents (Form RD-12)

2. Get a medical examination (VDRL) no more than 14 days before the wedding.

3. Have an original birth certificate for both celebrants.

4. Have an ID with Photo (passport, driver’s license or electoral card). Non American citizens must bring a current passport.

5. If either of you are divorced or widowed, an original of the divorce decree or death certificate must be presented.

6. Purchase a marriage license which costs $20.00 and a marriage certificate which costs $5.00.

7. Pick up your marriage certificate which will be available 10 days after the minister or judge registers the marriage.

8. Make sure minor guests under the age of 21 are accompanied by a parent with proper identification.
