Upcoming Events | Sport Facilities
In addition to being the premier destination in the Caribbean
for meetings and conventions, Puerto Rico is on the rise as
a world class destination for sporting events.
Puerto Rico has a history of hosting world class events,
whether it is with professional organizations like the
Major League Baseball, the National Basketball Players
Association and the United States Tennis Association, amateur organizations like the International Tae Kwon Do Federation,
the World's Masters Association Games, and the Pan-American
Karate Federation, or youth organizations like the
National Collegiate Tae Kwon Do Association and the Pee Wee
Reese Baseball World Series.
You can count on the Puerto Rico Convention Bureau's experience
in the planning, promotion and execution of successful sporting events.
Here's what Puerto Rico has to offer:
-
An average temperature of 86° F to practice any outdoor
sport throughout the year
-
Easy access from neighboring Caribbean islands and North,
Central, and South America
-
Sporting facilities for almost every Olympic sport,
ranging from 10 to 20,000 spectator seats. As you might
understand winter sports facilities are the exception
-
Puerto Rico has Olympic autonomy, which gives us the
opportunity to bring both national and international events to
the Island
-
A passion for sports!
You shouldn’t miss the opportunity to
practice the following sports while you’re on the Island:
Golf
Enjoy an exciting tee-time under our tropical sun. Puerto Rico
offers an enticing range of courses created by top golf course
designers such as Greg Norman, Arthur Hill, Gary Player, Rees
Jones and Robert Trent Jones. Choose among 16 world class
courses located within two hours of each other.
Water Sports
Scuba diving, snorkeling,
sailing, fishing, surfing, parasailing, windsurfing... On a
tropical island, it’s only natural that water sports top the
list of things to do.
Tennis
There are plenty of places to swing a racquet in Puerto Rico –
100 courts on the Island overall, at larger hotels, 17 in San
Juan Central Park, and many others scattered throughout the
city. There's even a court in Old San Juan, between El Morro
and the gardens of Casa Blanca.
Horseback Riding
Don't miss the opportunity to go horseback riding along a beach,
through the rain forest, or in the mountains.
